Why find attract.

Why have I chosen find attract as my blog’s title?

Find + Attract is the simplest way to state what I do. I’ve long felt that good sourcers and good employment branding requires the same skillset. You have to get into the mind of your target to know how to find them or how to attract them. Also, my role has very much been straddling those two worlds and I’ve found great benefit in looking at sourcing this way.

How to get the most out of this site?

Every thing I post to this site will have either a Find or Attract basis to it. If its categorized under Find then its focused on strictly sourcing related topics. Might be tools, techniques or strategies, but it will be for you who search for talent. If you want to only read those types of postings simply click the ‘Find’ category tab or tags where you see them.

If its categorized as Attract, it will be about the dynamics of what drives people to take action. This action might be going to a site, commenting on something, rating something, in short what causes people to engage with something. What is compelling?

Sourcing Solutions: let me and my network offer solutions

Also, I’ll be working on a new section for sourcing help called ‘Sourcing Solutions’. So if you’re working on a difficult sourcing problem you can send it to me and I’ll see if there’s anything I can do on it or my network of friends in sourcing can do. I’ll post it and invite comments from others. Look for a form to be placed on the site, otherwise just email your sourcing challenge, with specs, to ikahn@find-attract.com.

Over time I hope for this to turn into a community resource for collaboration.

Tools:

All of us as sourcing professionals are tasked with testing and evaluating various tools to help us do our jobs better or more distinctively.  If you’re coming here to learn about tools, just click it anywhere you see it as a tag.

Nice blog - just wish I could read that tiny font with or without my bifocals! I'll just play along and say 'looks cool!'
  • Hey Don,

I've been working on the font thing here. without getting too technical it appears the stylesheet for this theme uses em's for font size. Basically I think this means that the reader can adjust the size of the font as he/she looks at the blog. Simply hit CTRL + the scroll wheel on your mouse or laptop pad.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Josh
  • LOL, thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, I'm going to increase that font a bit. Overall I have a list of
10 or so things to polish up a bit, that's one.

    Thanks for stopping by!
